Don't miss a lavish new production of Cole Porter’s classic musical High Society at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre.
Based on the play The Philadelphia Story by Philip Barry, it tells the story of wealthy socialite Tracy Lord, who is planning a summer wedding when her ex-husband Dexter Haven turns up in an attempt to win her back. A further twist then arrives in the form of the charming reporter Mike Connor, leaving Tracy torn between which of the three men to choose as her groom.
High Society fizzes with memorable songs including Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, True Love, You’re Sensational and Well, Did You Evah!, made famous by screen legends Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra in the 1956 film.
This production stars Michael Praed (Robin of Sherwood & The Sound of Music) as Dexter Haven, Marilyn Cutts (Fascinating Aida) as Margaret Lord, Daniel Boys (Any Dream Will Do) as Mike Connor with Sophie Bould (The Sound of Music) as Tracy Lord.
It opened at the Marlowe Theatre on Tuesday, March 19, and will run until Saturday, March 23. Tickets from £15. Call 01227 787787.
