Animals will be bopping along to music when the Rare Breeds Centre stages its first concert.
Tickets go on sale on Monday for the Woodchurch tourist attraction’s Acoustics in the Wood gig.
Coco and the Butterfields and the Van Susans headline the event on Saturday, September 13.
Leila Ilkhan, fundraiser for the centre, said: “This is the first time we have done anything like this, but we hope it will become an annual event.
“We are doing it to attract a young adult audience and hopefully interest them in our work.
“We will be fundraising as well as we hope to get sponsors so all profits can go back to the centre.
“There are lots of music events in the area over the summer, but we are selling the atmosphere as well as great bands and local food and drink.”
Two stages will be set up in the centre’s Rainbow Wood, which Leila said not many people normally get to see.
She said: “The concert will be set in the heart of the picturesque Kent countryside and surrounded by beautiful woodland.
“It will showcase acoustic and stripped-down sets from local bands with a distinctly bohemian feel to it.
“Helping to raise money for a great local cause is just one more additional bonus to attending this magical event.”
Rainbow Wood is made up of 10,000 trees, each one planted to mark a special occasion. The concert will be from 5pm to 11pm.
Around 10 bands are set to perform, and it is hoped that around 600 people will attend. There will be stalls selling locally produced food and drink.
Tickets cost £15 and are available from www.rarebreeds.org.uk
The centre is owned and run by Canterbury Oast Trust, a charity which supports people with learning disabilities.
