There’s an all-Kent line-up of bands coming to the Quarterhouse in Folkestone this weekend.
Kent alt-rockers Salvation Jayne smashed their way through a raucous set at this summer’s Ramblin’ Man Fair in Maidstone, among a range of other gigs, including a major slot at Camden Rocks.
Hotly-tipped for big things, their new single Jayne Doe is out now. Described by Topper Headon of The Clash as “brilliant” Salvation Jayne have their own brand of dirty, fuzzy, alt-rock and dream-pop hooks.
Formed in Canterbury in 2016, the band – Chess on vocals, Tor on drums, Holly on guitar and Dan on bass, will be rolling into Folkestone’s Quarterhouse this weekend for a gig with two special guest acts.
They will be joined by hard hitting, in-your-face modern Kent band Karobela who blend British and American rock and whose new single No Mercy has been described as ‘indulgently scuzzy’ with ‘a sticky-sweet layer of pop sensibility weaved into the mix’.
Lead singer Lauren Diamond’s vocals layer influences from the likes of Lady Gaga and Gwen Steffani against the band’s gutsy guitar riffage, larger-than life bass lines and thundering drums.
Also joining the line-up will be Medway indie punk band The Ovines. The four piece band throw rock, ska and punk together.
The night starts at 7pm on Friday, October 4. To book tickets go to creativefolkestone.org.uk or call 01303 760750.
