Amazon Prime subscribers are being offered an extra sense of security following the latest 24-hour deals on home cameras.

The online retailer is currently gearing up for its annual Prime Day and has been rolling out lightning deals as warm-ups ahead of the summer sale on Monday, July 16.

Its latest discount instalment is on two home security surveillance cameras from YI with just over three million British households have turned to those camera systems to secure their homes.

The 720p home camera is on offer with a 58% discount, knocking down the price from £39.99 to £16.99, while the 1080p dome camera is available for £34.99 from £52.99 (34% discount). The offers expire at 11.59pm on Thursday, July 12.

Both devices offer real-time streaming to your phone as well as activity alerts when motion is detected. They have been designed with small children, pets and the elderly in mind.

Non-Prime members have been given an opportunity by Amazon to also get their hands on the deals - that include free shipping and the Prime Music/Prime Video services - after recently announcing a free 30-day trial for Amazon Prime. They will then be charged £7.99 per month once the trial period expires.

Alexa-enabled devices like Dot, Spot, Echo and Plus are also on hand to provide the latest deals when asked. You simply ask “Alexa, what are your deals?”

This is especially good when keeping an eye out for lightning deals, which come and go quickly, on Amazon’s today’s deals page.

Push notification alerts for the latest deals is another safe bet, provided you first make a watchlist.

You just need to download the Amazon app, select the notification option which looks like a bell and then turn on “Your Watched and Waitlisted Deals”.
