Winter is coming... For those wrapped up in the epic saga that is HBO's hugely popular Game of Thrones, there's a chance to sit on a throne and meet a king this weekend.

Organisers of the likes of Sci-Fi By the Sea and the Southeast Airshow have secured some big names from the blockbusting TV series for a medieval Game of Thrones-inspired event.

The family festival about the hit fantasy show brings Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor, and James Cosmo, who played Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander of The Night's Watch to our coast.

There may be a Royal Wedding happening at Windsor, but Kent has its own royalty coming.

Dean Charles Chapman, the young actor who played King Tommen Baratheon, will be adding a touch of royalty to the festival.

Also attending will be Sam Coleman, who portrayed a young Hodor and also confirmed is Tom Wlaschiha, who plays Jaqen H’gar in the HBO series.

The weekend includes a range of related activities, including re-enactments of the best battle scenes, a dragon and an Iron Throne to sit on.

The event was originally planned for Herne Bay, but outgrew its venue, and will now be held at Quex Park in Birchington on Sunday, May 20.
