Amazon has cranked up its role in the streaming media market by announcing the latest addition to its Fire TV catalogue, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K.
Powered by Alexa and available for £49.99, Amazon describes the device as ‘the most powerful streaming media stick’ and comes with a new Wi-Fi antenna design optimised for 4K Ultra HD streaming.
The media stick will be released on Wednesday, November 14 and is accompanied with the voice-controlled Alexa virtual assistant built-in. The stick comes bundled with Amazon's Alexa television remote.
It is the first Fire product to includes new volume and mute buttons on the remote. This aims to do away with the frustration of needing to switch remotes - something that Amazon took on board from customer feedback.
Apart from 4K Ultra HD, it will also provide content with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ titles. Fire TV Stick 4K also has a new quad core, 1.7GHz processor to deliver faster content streaming.
Along with the new features, the Fire TV Stick 4K will continue to provide consumers access with an array of channels, apps and music streaming services.
Some of the other media options includes choosing from 200,000 movies and TV episodes while you can also access Prime Video, BBC, Netflix, ITV, Channel 4, Disney and Curzon.
It can be plugged into the back of the television set via the HDMI port.
