Hot on the heels of news that author Harper Lee is releasing a sequel of To Kill a Mockingbird, a stage production of the original book returns to Kent.

If you want to refresh yourself of the story, see it at Dartford’s Orchard Theatre this week.

One of the greatest novels of the 20th century, To Kill a Mockingbird is set in America’s deep south.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning novel sees racial injustice envelop a small town community.

Through courage and compassion, lawyer Atticus Finch seeks the truth, and his feisty daughter Scout brings new hope to a neighbourhood in turmoil.

An enthralling production from London’s Regent’s Park Theatre visits Dartford from Tuesday, March 3, to Saturday March 7.

The production, which visited Canterbury last year, captures the warmth and poignancy of the important classic with genuine heart and emotional depth.

Set to be released in July, the ‘new’ book Go Set A Watchman was written by Harper Lee before To Kill A Mockingbird, but is set some 20 years later.

It has taken an incredible 55 years for the follow-up book to see the light of day.

Tickets to the Orchard Theatre production cost from £15. Visit www.orchardtheatre.co.uk or call 01322 220000.
