A nostalgic ‘80s-themed festival set to visit Kent for the first time next summer has revealed its line-up of chart-topping singers and bands.
Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, known for hits such as True and Gold, will headline Margate’s first Rewind festival in June.
Tickets go on sale today (November 20) from 10am. You can book tickets online here.
The singer, who has enjoyed a successful solo career since the band’s split in 1990, will perform a string of songs from the New Romantics era and along with his own material.
He will be joined by Band Aid and Live Aid co-founder Midge Ure, Bristolian singer-songwriter Nik Kershaw, synth-pop group Heaven 17, recent Strictly contestant Toyah Willcox, I Think We’re Alone Now singer Tiffany and Carol Decker’s T’Pau.
Rewind organisers revealed that the festival would be making its Kent debut earlier this year.
The festival will still take place at its regular location in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, in August, but Rewind Scotland and Rewind North, hosted in Cheshire, will not return in 2025.
Two new dates in Dublin and Cork have also been confirmed for next year.
The Kent date will be a one-day festival with musicians performing on the venue’s outdoor Scenic Stage from 6pm.
Rewind has been running since 2009, when it was named 80s Rewind Festival, and is one of the country’s biggest festivals celebrating the decade.
Artists including Kim Wilde, Boy George, Billy Ocean, Aswad, Rick Astley, Jason Donovan, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu and Bananarama have all performed at the festival in the past.
Rewind is coming to Margate on Saturday, June 14. Tickets start from £42.50.
