Whether you want to make a splash, take a nostalgic train trip, or let the little ones let off steam in a play area, you’ll soon be able to do all of them.

Here's the latest venues reopening this weekend:

Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway

The railway will welcome back visitors from Saturday, July 4 with a range of safety measures including socially distanced queuing, partitions between carriage compartments and cleaning between each return journey.

Visitors will also be asked to pay contactless and adults will be advised to wear a face covering where possible. All journeys will begin from New Romney Station and go to Dungeness, with passengers getting 20 minutes at Dungeness before their return time. Elmley Nature Reserve, Sheppey

The reserve on the Isle of Sheppey is welcoming guests back from Saturday, July 4, and bookings are now open under flexible terms so it is possible for guests to arrange an escape into nature, without worries of being out of pocket if plans need to change.

Explore the 3,300 acres and trails, wild swim from Elmley’s private beach and relax and unwind amongst the wildlife.

Properties to hire include Kingshill Farmhouse (sleeping up to 14) and Elmley Cottage (sleeping up to 10 people) and shepherds huts, as well as bell tents. Day visitors can also pre-book tickets for Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays in July, from £6 per adult for a half day, which allows entry for up to two accompanying children. Book by clicking here.

Bewl Water, Lamberhurst

The reservoir has been open to visitors for some weeks but now managers say the aqua park is back on Saturday, July 4. You’ll need to book a ticket in advance to get to make your splash. Book at bewlwater.sports-booker.com

Leeds Castle, Maidstone

After reopening the grounds to the public last week, management have reviewed their capacity and have decided they can safely increase visitor numbers from Saturday, July 4. The grounds and the Princess Alexandra Gardens are now open. Book at leeds-castle.com

Hever Castle & Gardens, near Tonbridge

A month after the gardens and grounds reopened to visitors, the castle is also set to do so on Saturday, July 4. Visitors will need to book a garden ticket with an arrival time online and upgrade to a castle ticket at the castle entrance. The play areas, the Acorn Dell and the Knights' Stronghold, will also be open, with safety measures n place. Details at hevercastle.co.uk

Lullingstone Castle, near Eynsford

The castle’s grounds, including the World Garden designed by Tom Hart Dyke, will reopen on Friday, July 3. It will be open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays until October. 31 To find out more go to lullingstonecastle.co.uk

Dover & Walmer Castle grounds

Both castles’ grounds will be among the first 45 major English Heritage attractions reopening on Saturday, July 4. Details at english-heritage.org.uk

Kent Life, Maidstone

The farming attraction is also set to reopen to visitors this Saturday to those who have pre-booked an arrival time slot online. Find out more here.

The play area in the 450-acre park is one of several reopening, with safety measures in place, to children again on Saturday, July 4, after government restrictions were eased further.
