She's baked her way to the Great British Bake Off semi-finals, released a critically acclaimed cook book and runs a YouTube channel where tens of thousands watch her share some of her mouthwatering recipes.

Now, Broadstairs' very own Chetna Makan has teamed up with KMTV to produce Kent Cooks, a countywide culinary adventure.

"For as long as I can remember, the kitchen has been like a second home for me," says Chetna.

"Whether it's been in the Bake Off tent, making my favourite dishes on my YouTube channel, or simply making dinner for my family, there's nothing more I love than being in the kitchen."

She begins the episode behind her sparse kitchen counter which fills with colour and a whole host of ingredients through the show.

A regular at cooking demos across the county, in Kent Cooks, Chetna goes on a journey of her own to explore the places and meet the people who make Kent the Garden of England, as well as creating delicious dishes, of course.

In the first episode, Chetna travels to Provenance Potatoes, an East Kent-based potato producers, and follows the journey of their désirée variety from the fields of Thanet to the dinner table.

From observing the harvest, to checking on thousands of spuds in the chilly storage hangar, to lending a hand with the grading and packing, viewers will be guided through the stages of the production process and gain a behind the scenes insight into one of Kent's many food businesses.

In the second half of the programme, Chetna invites viewers into her kitchen as she cooks up one of her personal favourite recipes using some of the désirée potatoes from Provenance. But you'll have to watch the show to find out what she'll be serving up.

Kent Cooks airs on KMTV (Freeview 7, BT 7, Virgin 159 and online at kmtv.co.uk).

It will be on Boxing Day at 10am and 2.30pm and on Sunday, December 30 at 10.30am and 6.30pm.
