Take cover! A living history event with more than 150 re-enactors is storming into Kent for the bank holiday weekend.
Military Odyssey is a three-day festival that spans 2,000 years of wartime history with characters, battles, costumes and memorabilia.
The display is gearing up for its biggest year yet, with more than 300 traders, 150 living history groups, 1,800 vehicles and three themed bars setting up shop at the Kent Event Centre in Detling.
The highlight of the show is the battle arena where re-enactors will bring all the action of the frontline to the showground with precise choreography and full-scale props.
The groups recreate key moments from conflicts dating back hundreds of years, with depictions of everything from the British Home Front in the Second World War to the GI resistance in the Vietnam War.
There will also be a display of vintage vehicles including tanks, classic cars, Jeeps, and motorbikes and a range of historical artefacts such as 1940s furniture, old-fashioned machinery and military uniforms.
If you need a break from the battlefield, you can hit the dancefloor with jive and swing lessons, sing along to wartime songs or stop off for a drink in the beer hall.
Military Odyssey will be at the Kent Event Centre in Detling, near Maidstone, from Saturday, August 24 to Monday, August 26. You can book tickets online here.
Day tickets for adults start from £20, while a weekend ticket will set you back £42.
