A drinks festival boasting more than 40 local ciders will return for the bank holiday weekend.

The Brogdale Cider Festival, which takes place at the Faversham orchards on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27, is one of the biggest celebrations of Kentish cider in the county.

The two-day festival will offer drinks from award-winning cider producers from in and around Kent, including Brogdale’s own ciders and juices made from the fruit grown in its orchards.

The festival will also feature producers such as Biddenden Vineyard in Ashford, Hernhill Cider between Faversham and Canterbury, Longtail Cider in Rochester, Turners Cider in Tonbridge, Wise Owl Cider in Maidstone and the Kent Cider Company in Faversham.

There will also be craft beer from Mad Cat Brewery as well as cocktails, other alcoholic drinks and soft drinks available.

The weekend event also has a packed programme of live music with performances from cover bands Hullabaloo, Rhythm Fish, Gone Country, Rock Choir, Certified Madness, Native Oysters Band and more.

The music will take place across three stages playing a mix of pop, rock, jazz, swing, country and folk music.

There will also be plenty for kids to do, including face painting, a bouncy castle, teddy parachuting, ukulele classes and a trifle-eating competition.

Children can also get involved in workshops including apple juicing, juggling, campfire cooking, crafting and the animal corner.

The miniature railway will also be operating over the weekend, taking visitors on train rides around the orchards.
