Deal Classic Motor Show returns to Betteshanger Park, Deal, for a display of vintage vehicles

A fleet of classic motors are set to pull up at Betteshanger Park for the annual Deal Classic Motor Show.
More than 700 beautiful vintage vehicles will be making their way to the country park for a display of the best vintage British cars and motorcycles.
Expect to see rare models, refurbished engines and cars you might remember from your early driving days.
Prior to the pandemic, the event was held for 10 years at Walmer Green, near Deal seafront, but has since had to move to the nearby park due to funding.
Event organiser Chris West said: “Some people are disappointed the show will not be on Walmer Green.
“From 2009 to 2019, the Deal Classic Motor Show was on Walmer Green. In 2019, we had 1,027 classic vehicles, and an estimated 15,000 visitors throughout the day who had free entry to the event, as it was public open space.
“Due to Covid-19, the show didn't take place in 2020 and, in 2021, we had to move the show to Betteshanger Park due to the government restrictions. To hold a show such as the Deal Classic Motor on Walmer Green we have had to raise each year in excess of £10,000.
“This year, we have not been able to secure the sponsorship we require to hold the show on Walmer Green, due to the current economic climate and local businesses are struggling.
“Betteshanger Park is now fully open with great attractions such as the Mining Museum and I am very pleased to be holding the Deal Classic Motor Show there.”
However, if you’re not the biggest car enthusiast in the world, don’t worry - it’s not all about the motors.
There will also be plenty of live music throughout the day, including four-time Brit Award nominee Toploader.
The ‘00s band from East Sussex saw huge success with their 2000 hit single, Dancing in the Moonlight, and went onto sell more than 2 million albums worldwide.
They will be supported by a number of other artists, including the Smokin’ Mavericks, to keep you entertained all day long.
The event also raises money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, as well Betteshanger’s newly opened Kent Mining Museum.
“Each year we have supported the RNLI Walmer Lifeboat and they have raised, thanks to the Classic Motor Show, over £30,000,” says Chris.
