It’s another trio in store at Rochester’s Billabong comedy club blending silly voices, Geordie wit and music hall.
Christian Steel is flying the flag for the north. The cheeky Geordie not only excels at stand-up but has also performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Mark Felgate meanwhile provides a combination of silly voices, noises, vocal acrobatics, twisted songs and guitar histrionics.
Last up, Dean Caston has appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and in cabaret performing his comedy like a modern day Max Miller. Dean is a member of the British Music Hall Society and is keen to keep variety alive.
See all three in one hit at Billabong on Thursday, October 30, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £9 in advance or £12 on the door. Visit www.wegottickets.com/event/292962 or call
07711 713667.
Cornish comedian Jethro will be bringing his brand of west country wit to Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall on Friday, October 24 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20.50. Visit www.atgtickets.com/folkestone or call 0844 8713015.
Andy Zaltzman, the British-based half of the global hit topical podcast The Bugle, is on the road with his interactive show, Satirist for Hire. Audiences are given the chance to have the issues they care about satirised to order by one of Britain’s leading political comedians.
Whether a general grumble or a specific bleat, ticketholders are invited to send in their satirico-queries in advance. Andy will butter their political hot potato and serve it back to them at the show of their choosing.
He’s at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre on Saturday, October 25 at 8pm. Tickets cost £12. Visit www.marlowetheatre.com or call 01227 787787.
Naked Pictures of My Life was the name of the Edinburgh show that made Pete Johansson’s name in 2009. Since then, he has received rave star reviews and is a regular at the London Comedy Store.
Pete has also appeared on Radio 4’s Loose Ends and Russell Howard’s Good News. Themes in this new show, Several Jokes, include conquering fear, vulnerability, rebuilding intimacy in long term relationships and his fear of ignorance.
See him at Maidstone’s Hazlitt Theatre Studio on Saturday, October 25 at 8pm. Tickets cost £13. Visit www.parkwoodtheatres.co.uk or call 01622 758611.
The innovative comedy mind behind Are You Dave Gorman? Modern Life Is Goodish, and Googlewhack Adventure is back.
Dave Gorman’s new live show, Dave Gorman Gets Straight To The Point*... (*The PowerPoint), promises more of his unique blend of stand-up comedy and visual story-telling. Yes, it’s a PowerPoint presentation. But don’t worry, you won’t need to take notes and you almost certainly won’t be tested on it later.
See Dave at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday, October 28 at 8pm. Tickets cost £20. Visit www.assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk or call 01892 530613.
