Treat the whole family to a magical Christmas concert led by a Grammy-winning composer.

Danny Elfman will return to London this December to perform songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas with a live orchestra.

The songwriter, who voiced the film’s lead character Jack Skellington in the musical numbers, will star in the unique ‘cine-concert’, which sees the film projected onto a big screen while live musicians and singers perform in sync on stage.

The four-time Oscar nominee collaborated with long-time filmmaking partner Tim Burton and director Henry Selick to write all of the songs featured in the 1993 stop-motion animation, including This Is Halloween and What’s This.

The film follows Jack, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, and his misguided attempt to take over the Christmas holiday.

He ignores the advice of Sally, a lonely rag doll who has Jack’s best interests at heart, and enlists the help of three trick-or-treaters to help kidnap Santa Claus, but things soon go awry when Oogie Boogie, the town’s fearsome bogeyman, gets involved.

Upon its release, the animation was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score.

The composer, who has also worked on films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Men in Black and also wrote the world-famous Simpsons theme tune, will be joined by the BBC Concert Orchestra and a series of special guests for the concert.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Live will be at the OVO Arena in Wembley on Thursday, December 12. You can book tickets here.
