A huge picnic intended to bring families, friends and neighbours of all ages together is hoping the way to people’s hearts is through their stomachs.
Folkestone Quarterhouse is holding its first ever Big Lunch on Sunday, June 7, where people from all walks of the community can eat together, socialise and start new friendships.
It will take place at Payers Park, behind the Quarterhouse in Tontine Street, from noon.
All you have to do is bring your own food and get stuck into a good chat. Soft drinks will be provided and there will be games for all ages.
Payers Parks was created as an open space part of last year’s Folkestone Triennial.
Last year, 4.83 million people took part in the sixth annual Big Lunch nationally, meeting in streets, gardens and community spaces. The Big Lunch is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and in Folkestone is being held as the launch event of the Outlands Festival, a series of arts events running at Payers Park and the Quarterhouse throughout August.
The fun starts from noon. Visit www.quarterhouse.co.uk
