A fringe festival showcasing art exhibitions, stand-up comedy and live music returns for its fourth year.

The Gravesham Fringe Festival is a 10-day event taking place in and around Gravesend with artists from Kent and beyond performing at multiple venues.

Medway-based funk band Unit 48 and ska and reggae group Skabretta, from Gillingham, are set to appear, along with tribute bands such as Some Kind of Metallica and Nerdvana.

While music has traditionally played a big part of the festival, this year boasts a promising line-up of variety entertainment, from theatre to spoken word.

Comedy performances from Liz Guterbock, Louise Atkinson and Roki are there to put a smile on your face, while unique shows such as new play Fox Can’t Sing and Musical Theatre Bingo should appeal to regular theatre-goers.

There are also a series of Wild Walks events, during which audience members will be immersed in an interactive theatre show combined with nature missions and foraging, taking place throughout the fringe.

Art lovers can admire exhibitions on a range of topics, from printmaking and crafting to fabric and ‘scribble art’.

You can also sign up to a number of workshops, including laughter yoga, African dance, silk painting and drawing.

More than 16,000 people attended the festival last year, with at least 25 performances on offer.

The events will be taking place at a number of the town’s venues, with The Woodville, St George’s Arts Centre, Leo’s Red Lion, Fort Gardens, the Mole Hole, Royal Pier Road and Iron Pier Brewery all set to play host this year.
