A tarantula spider

The thought of tarantulas, scorpions and millipedes can send shivers down the spine. For those who are curious, half-crazy or very brave, there is the South East Arachnid Show.

Mantids, centipedes, beetles and snails can also be seen at the giant expo of “all kinds of bugs, for all kinds of people.”

It is run by the Invicta Arachnid Club, whose aim is to educate people about caring correctly for these often misunderstood and gentle creatures.

It takes place at the Ashford International Hotel on Sunday, January 27 from 11am to 5pm. Admission £3, concessions £1.50, under fives free. Call 01233 219988 or visitwww.invicta-arachnid-club.co.uk
