Get up offa that thing and head to the Soundcrash Funk and Soul Weekender.

Fans of funk, soul and disco can boogie on down to the coast with this bumper three-day music festival at Dreamland in Margate.

Headlining this incredible weekend of internationally renowned artists are disco legends Sister Sledge.

Founding sister Debbie and her daughter Camille continue to tour the world and perform the band's biggest dancefloor classics, such as We Are Family and He’s the Greatest Dancer.

Also making an appearance at the Funk and Soul Weekender is influential funk godfather George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

George’s music, both as a solo artist and as part of the Parliament Funkadelic, has seen him become regarded as one of the innovators of popular funk music, alongside legends such as James Brown and Sly Stone.

The Parliament Funkadelic were recognised for their contributions to music in 1997 when the entire collective were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

BBC Radio 6 presenter and founder of jazz record labels Acid Jazz, Talkin' Loud and Brownswood, Gilles Peterson, and pioneer of the 1980s acid jazz movement Roy Ayers, will also be performing at the festival.

Other artists in the line-up include actor and DJ Craig Charles, who has hosted the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show since 2002, David Rodigan, Norman Jay, Sam Redmore, Dom Servini and more.

The festival coincides with the summer opening of Dreamland, which will begin welcoming guests to its traditional seaside funfair from Sunday, May 29 on weekends and bank holidays.

On Friday, ticket-holders will be able to get their skates on at the roller disco and party in the undercover area while, on Saturday and Sunday, the park will be open to festival-goers.

During the weekender, you can tuck into street food, admire art from local artists and soak up the sun at this outdoor venue.
