He’s rapped with the Fresh Prince, shared pick-up lines with Bryan Cranston and turned the air blue with Miriam Margolyes.

In fact, when it comes to the world of showbiz, there aren’t many people with whom TV presenter Graham Norton hasn’t shared a special moment.

Now, the award-winning chat show host is taking a turn in the spotlight to talk about his latest novel, Frankie, at Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall.

Since rising to fame on the comedy circuit in the 1990s, Graham has been part of some of the UK’s most-watched television shows, including taking over as the tongue-in-cheek commentator of the Eurovision Song Contest, being the face of the family-friendly game show Wheel of Fortune and sitting on the judging panel of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

He is probably best known, however, for his Saturday night TV show, the Graham Norton Show, which has been running since 2007.

The programme is renowned for having star-studded guests on the sofa every week, with A-list celebrities such as Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Joan Collins, Dawn French, Will Smith, Tom Hanks and Kylie Minogue all making multiple appearances over the past 17 years.

For his on-screen work, the presenter has received nine BAFTAs, 10 British Comedy Awards, an International Emmy Award and the NTA Special Recognition Award.

In more recent years, the TV star has turned his hand to writing with his debut novel, Holding, being published in 2016.

Holding was adapted into an ITV drama, directed by Kathy Burke, and his following books - A Keeper, Home Stretch and Forever Home - became bestsellers.

The writer’s new novel, Frankie, sees an elderly woman look back on her life, from 1940s Ireland to 1960s New York, through stories told to her young carer, Damian.

The live show will give fans a chance to hear more about the new book, which is published this week, and is a rare opportunity to see one of the UK’s biggest TV personalities on stage.

An Evening With Graham Norton is at Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone on Tuesday, September 17. Book tickets online here.

Tickets include a copy of the book.
