Any special plans for breakfast this week?

Why not organise or attend a breakfast with family, friends or colleagues and do your bit for a noble cause in the process?

Heart of Kent Hospice is promoting its annual ‘Hearty Breakfast’ campaign and is calling on the public to tuck into their eggs and bacon or coffee and croissants for charity and make a donation, between Thursday, March 21 and Sunday, March 24.

Catch up with family, friends or colleagues over breakfast and give your support to Heart of Kent Hospice.

The money donated by having breakfast for Heart of Kent Hospice will enable them to continue to offer outstanding care to those who need it in the local community.

“We’ve heard from school-run mums, work colleagues, U3A’s and sports clubs who have downloaded their Hearty Breakfast fundraising tool kits and are planning their breakfasts," said Karen Newton, Community Partnership Fundraiser at Heart of Kent Hospice.

An independent charity, Heart of Kent Hospice is dependent on the generosity of its local community to raise £4 out of every £5 it spends caring for terminally ill patients and their families.

You don’t even need to host an event to do your bit for Heart of Kent Hospice’s Hearty Breakfast.

Some of the restaurants and cafes in Lenham and Maidstone that have already joined the Hearty Breakfast campaign include The Bow Window Coffee Shop and Wine Bar, Aunt Sally’s Kitchen, The Curious Eatery, The Living Cafe, Leah’s Bistro and The Running Horse.

There’s still time to get in on the action.

Those interested in hosting a Hearty Breakfast can visit Heart of Kent Hospice’s official website and download a fundraising pack including invitations, posters, banners, bunting templates, bucket wraps, ‘return your money’ forms and gift aid declarations.

The money donated by having breakfast for Heart of Kent Hospice will enable nurses to continue to offer outstanding care to those who need it in the local community.

“Organising a breakfast doesn’t necessarily need to be something really big”, continued Karen.

“It can be simply friends meeting up for a coffee and putting some money into a pot or even a group of people heading to a cafe and making a donation.

“It could even be part of a special occasion. Please join us for a brilliant breakfast this week."
