A popular Indian restaurant in Kent has introduced a temporary delivery service including complimentary food for NHS staff, the elderly and the vulnerable.
With the coronavirus outbreak prompting the government to impose a lockdown across the nation, many businesses like Jumeira Restaurant in Staplehurst have been forced to close their doors for dine-ins.
But that doesn’t mean customers can’t enjoy some of their favourite Indian dishes from the restaurant.
“We are committed to bringing you the Jumeira experience at home which is why we will now only be offering takeaways during our normal business hours,” said restaurant manager Taraq Ahmed.
“We will also be temporarily introducing a delivery service with a five-mile radius for those who are unable to travel. Customers can call us on 01580 890 420 while there is also a no-contact delivery option.”
In the midst of the pandemic, the NHS is being called upon more than ever and many are bracing for an even bigger surge in Covid-19 cases.
The NHS has received a huge outpouring of support in recent weeks and Taraq and his team are also eager to support local doctors and nurses as well as those who may need help.
“We are incredibly proud of our community pulling together during these challenging times, especially our fantastic NHS staff,” he continued.
"As a token of our appreciation, we are offering all NHS staff complimentary food throughout this difficult time. We are also offering the vulnerable and elderly in our community complimentary takeaway orders with delivery. Please do let your loved ones know that we’re here to support them.”
Jumeira Restaurant is at 17 The Parade, Staplehurst, near Maidstone.
Customers can visit the official website by clicking here or telephone 01580 890 420.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and look forward to hopefully being able to welcome you back to our restaurant very soon,” added Taraq.
