Spa Valley Railway

Dad can tuck into a ploughman's lunch while enjoying a ride of the steam train on Sunday, June 20.

Watch the Weald countryside fly by from the comfort of your restored carriage on the journey from Eridge at 12.20pm to Tunbridge Wells. There's also a roast chicken lunch if the ploughman's isn't Dad's dish, as well as a starter and dessert. Tunerfest South, Brands Hatch

On Father's Day, Sunday, June 20, there will be a full day's action devoted to performance tuning and raw power.

Headcorn Aerodrome

Did you know you don't need to be having a flying lesson or for a big event to be on to get to see the planes fly above the aerodrome? Lydden Hill Race Circuit near Canterbury

Take dad for some adrenalin-fuelled action at the race circuit near Dover on the day before Father’s Day - Saturday, June 19 - when the Kent Outlaws Racing Club will be on track. The day’s action will involve hot rods of various shapes and sizes. Book tickets at lyddenhill.co.uk.

Watch the Euros

Treat dad to the best seat in the house by watching the England v Czech Republic game on Tuesday, June 22 at the local. However, if you want to watch the action unfold live on the big screen, Showcase Cinema at Bluewater is screening the match for free. You just need to book online to go along. Axe Throwing at Hever Castle

The annual Father's Day weekend activities at the castle near Edenbridge involve a display of vehicles from the late F1 champion John Surtees, as well as a range of other cars, but this year the event on Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20, there will be an axe throwing contest which Dad can step up for. The activity is being run by professionals in a controlled manner. There's also all the usual attractions, including the Tudor Towers adventure playground, Acorn Dell for little ones and the chance to splash Dad in the Water Maze. Curious Brewery, Ashford

Kent is home to dozens of top brewery and vineyard tours, but if your Dad loves a drop of beer, the Ashford-based brewery - which is now under new ownership - has award-winning beers and a trendy brewery restaurant overlooking the brewery and outside seating too. Book here.
