Santa returns to the Historic Dockyard Chatham with Mission Christmas: The Clausometer Catastrophe

Take a peek behind the scenes and discover how Father Christmas manages to deliver his presents to children around the world at a new festive experience.
The Historic Dockyard Chatham will once again open its doors to a handful of visitors during the Christmas season and invite them to join Mission Christmas: The Clausometer Catastrophe.
The family-friendly experience made its debut last year, giving visitors a chance to find out what goes on inside the dockyard in December for the very first time.
This year, the event has been given a refresh and is shifting its focus to Mrs Claus as the main character.
Visitors will need to jump in to help Mrs Claus save the day and stop the elves getting into mischief in a “magical, interactive Christmas experience” that tells a whole new story.
You will be taken to Father Christmas’ secret location where he uses his Santa-Nav and fixes up his sleigh to make sure he can deliver presents to all the children on his ‘nice list’ in time for Christmas Day.
If things start to go wrong, it’ll be up to Mrs Claus and the dockyard’s visitors to help Santa get back on track with a series of tasks and challenges.
At the end of the mission, children will be introduced to Father Christmas himself and given a special gift as a reward.
The experience has been created within historic rooms inside the dockyard, including the Mast Houses and Mould Loft.
Mission Christmas: The Clausometer Catastrophe will be open from Saturday, November 25 to Christmas Eve. You can book tickets online here.
There are also three dedicated quiet sessions that have been adapted for visitors with additional needs on Saturday, November 25, Saturday, December 9 and Monday, December 18.
The rest of the dockyard’s galleries and exhibition spaces will be closed over Christmas, but the Mess Desk Restaurant and the gift shop will be open during the event.
