Skank down to Folkestone

A 12-hour ska show is being held at Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall on Saturday, January 18.

Ska Aid will feature acts including Mr ‘Double Barrel’ Dave Barker with Intensified, Toot ‘n’ Skamen with Roddy Radiation of the Specials, Chris Peckings, Nick Welsh, former Bodysnatchers singer Rhoda Dakar and the Estimators. Between bands there will be a DJ competition.

All the acts are giving their services for free, with funds raised going to suppliers at last summer’s Folkestone Ska Splash who didn’t get paid because of financial difficulties.

Ska Aid is taking place from 11am to 11pm. Tickets from £16. Call 01303 228600.

Folkestone Ska Fest is to take place from August 8 to 10 this year. The main events will take place at the Leas Cliff Hall and its Channel Suite, spilling out to The Leas with a ska market.
