After a year’s absence, the Southern Model Show makes a welcome return to the county.
The event, normally held at the Hop Farm has a new home at Headcorn Aerodrome, near Maidstone, and this year’s line-up looks set to be bigger and better than before.
There will be a spectacular airshow, including a formation display by the quarter scale 22kg Red Arrow Hawks, flown by Shropshire father and son team Steve and Matt Bishop.
Visitors can also enjoy the biggest display of hot air balloons in the UK, including the magnificent evening Night Glow, in which the pilots ignite burners and transform the balloons into giant light bulbs in the sky.
There will also be lots of action on the ground, including a large display of model tanks and combat vehicles, and a visit by Dr Who’s arch enemies, the Daleks.
Gates open at 10am on Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15.
Day passes are £12 for adults, £10 for children, free for under fives, and £35 for a family.
Camping is £60 for a motorhome, caravan or tent, and includes entry into the show on both days for two adults and two children.
