Some of the most stunning settings are the sites for the Luna Cinema screenings this summer.

The country’s leading producer of open-air cinema events follows a simple formula: a classic film, on a big screen, in a beautiful or prestigious setting.

With bespoke sound equipment and state-of- the-art screens, you’ll see movie magic in a whole new light under the stars.

This summer Luna Cinema comes to four Kent locations.

ROCHESTER CASTLE

Screened on the lawn opposite the historic castle, sit back and relax and enjoy three screenings in September.

On Thursday, September 22, 80s kids classic The Goonies (12) will be screened, followed by Leonardo Di Caprio’s early starring role in Romeo and Juliet (12A) on Friday, September 24, and the 1979 comedy Monty Python’s Life of Brian (15) on Saturday, September 24. Tickets £13.50, children £9 and premium tickets £26.

SWANLEY PARK

Held in the centre of the park, against the backdrop of the boating lake, there are two popular pieces being screened.

On Friday, July 8, Richard Gere and Julia Roberts show cinemagoers their 1990 outing, Pretty Woman (15), while on Saturday, July 9, Tom Cruise takes off in 1986’s Top Gun (12). Tickets £13.50, £9 for three- to 15-year-olds. Premium tickets are £26.

TONBRIDGE CASTLE

Situated on the west side of the lawn, in front of the motte-and-bailey castle, there will be three screenings in July.

On Friday, July 22, Kevin Costner’s flaming arrow flies again in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (12), while on Saturday, July 23, Olivia Newton John and John Travolta will be bringing the crowds to Grease and on Sunday, July 24, Back to the Future will be screened. Tickets £13.50, £9 for three- to 15-year-olds and premium tickets £26.

LEEDS CASTLE

Staged on the Cedar Lawn, cinema fans can see a trio of films over three days in July.

On Thursday, July 28, watch Bridesmaids (15), while on Friday, July 29, Star Wars the Force Awakens jets in and the following night on Saturday, July 30, watch 80s classic Top Gun starring Tom Cruise at 9pm; doors open at 7.30pm.

Tickets £15, £10 for three- to 15-year-olds, with premium tickets £27.50.

HOP FARM FLICKS

Be transported into a world of dinosaurs or back to the future with a new drive-in cinema being staged at the Hop Farm Family Park near Paddock Wood this summer.
Moonlight Drive-In Cinema will be screening classics and current movies throughout the summer.
Seventies classic Grease joins Jurassic World and Minions, as well as Jurassic Park and 80s cult hit Back to the Future.
Founder Benjamin Stonehouse promises to continue as long as the weather permits and says the site has space for more than 100 cars.
This weekend you can see Deadpool (15) on Friday, June 17, at 9.45pm, Spectre (12A) at 9.45pm on Saturday, June 18, and Back to the Future (PG) on Sunday, June 19, at the same time.

Entry is £20 per vehicle or £25 on the gate. You can buy food and have it delivered to your vehicle, while the audio will be played through each car’s radio.

DANCING IN THE (KINGS HILL) MOONLIGHT

Kings Hill residents will be able to have the time of their lives at a new outdoor cinema event this summer.
Alfresco Events will be staging Dirty Dancing at the Kings Hill Sports Park on Friday, August 12.
It will be held at the park in Beacon Avenue from 8.45pm, with gates opening at 6.30pm.
