An outdoor venue in Kent will host a brand new rock music festival next summer.

Maid of Stone Festival will take place on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 at Mote Park in Maidstone.

Maid of Stone Festival is Mote Park's new heavy rock festival as Ramblin' Man Fair remains cancelled

The festival looks likely to replace the town’s previous heavy rock festival, Ramblin’ Man Fair, which was cancelled earlier this year.

Despite promises to return this summer after being postponed due to Covid, the festival organisers announced at the start of the year that the event would be cancelled for yet another summer.

No further public statements from Ramblin’ Man Fair have been released since January.

However, it seems that rock fans can still get their fix in 2023 with the launch of the Maid of Stone Festival.

The event, from the same team behind the town’s Park Live concert series, will feature two stages.

The artists have yet to be announced, but the organisers have confirmed that one stage will host international artists while the second will showcase UK and European acts, as well as local talent and up-and-coming bands.

There will also be cask ale, street food, funfair and camping options. You can find out more information here.

Line-up announcements and ticket release dates are set to be revealed soon, with the website stating 'early 2023' for further details.

The festival will take place from 12 noon to 11pm on Saturday, July 22 and 12 noon to 10pm on Sunday, July 23.
