Get ready to “Aaah”!
This weekend a popular annual lambing two-day event will open its farm gates to the public – and thousands are expected to attend.
The lambing weekend at New Line Learning Academy, Maidstone, is always well attended, but this year is also a special year as it will be the official opening of its new farm.
There has been a school farm on the site at Boughton Lane in Loose for more than 35 years. The site used to be home to Oldborough Manor School before the academy was built.
The new farm, which is run by the Young Farmers, will be closer to the academy. It will boast two modern classrooms, an office, toilets, a small barn, paddocks and a horticultural teaching area.
Visitors to the weekend can see the animals and enjoy games, refreshments and crafts for children.
The improved facilities will be on show during the lambing weekend on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17.
The grand opening will take place at 1pm on Saturday. The weekend will be open between 11am and 4pm both days.
Entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
