Summer’s in full swing... so it must be time for Great Comp Garden’s Summer Show.
For the first time, the show will see exhibitors showcasing their plants on the sweeping North Lawn at the front of the 17th century manor house, which will be home to a collection of unusual flowering perennials.
Being staged on Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11, between 11am and 5pm, the popular annual event is curated by William Dyson, salvia expert and owner of Dyson’s Nurseries.
He has invited a range of renowned nurseries specialising in unusual plants.
William is well known for his collection of more than 200 species of salvias, developed at his nursery at Great Comp.
He also launched some new ones at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show including Wine and Roses and Pink Pong.
He will be showcasing some of his most popular salvias at the summer show.
The two-day horticultural delight - the biggest event of the year for Great Comp near Borough Green - is held when the seven-acre garden itself is at the peak of its colour, with its summer flowering florals bursting into bloom on cue.
The Old Dairy Tearooms will also be open serving lunches and teas through the day and Pimms will be served on the lawn with jazz performed by Strings 'n' Things.
Entry is £8.50, £3 for six to 17-year-olds with under fives free. Find out more at greatcompgarden.co.uk
