The world’s longest-running murder mystery is celebrating 70 years of thrills with a nationwide tour.
Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, which has broken records for its jaw-dropping on-stage run, is touring theatres across the country, including six nights at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley.
The play, which is one of the most famous works by best-selling novelist Agatha Christie, opened on the West End in 1952 and has been performed in London ever since.
The show is still running at St Martin’s Theatre and, to this day, has been performed at the theatre more than 29,000 times and has sold more than 10 million tickets.
The show follows a group of seven strangers who become trapped inside a remote guesthouse while a London murderer is on the loose.
When a police sergeant arrives at the house and reveals that one of the seven guests is the killer, the retreat turns into a ticking timebomb to unmask the murderer before they strike again.
This latest production stars Todd Carty, who is best known for playing Mark Fowler in EastEnders from 1990 to 2003.
The actor, who has also appeared in shows such as Grange Hill and The Bill, will take on the role of the mysterious Major Metcalf.
He will be joined by Casualty and Hollyoaks star Catherine Shipton.
The Mousetrap will be at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley from Monday, November 20 to Saturday, November 25. You can book tickets online here.
