You may know him best as frontman to the Kaiser Chiefs but Ricky Wilson's latest venture may not cause a riot, more a gentle stir.
He's turning his hand to a niche food range - and is bringing it to Kent first as part of a food trial.
Ricky is launching Doctor Seaweed's Weed and Wonderful, a range of organic infused oils with flavours of the sea, which are being trialled by Sainsbury's as part of their Future Brands programme in stores in Kent.
They are at Hempstead, Ashford, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.
Bitten by the baking bug on the Great British Bake Off's Stand Up to Cancer last year, Ricky used seaweed on the show, baking seaweed wholemeal scones which got judge Paul Hollywood's seal of approval.
Seaweed is one of the top food trends of 2019 and gaining huge momentum in the food industry due to its highly rich nutrient content, flavour and for being a sustainable food resource.
He and marine biologist Doctor Seaweed, Dr Craig Rose, want to educate the nation on the forgotten food source. He said: "Seaweed has incredible flavour and health benefits. Just drizzle over salads, grilled veg or fish or use in a stir fry. The flavour is rockin'.”
The range includes Naturally Smoked Scottish Seaweed Infused Oil and Intense Smoked Seaweed Infused Culinary Essence costing £9.
Rachel Eyre, from Sainsbury's said: "We are always looking to the future and thinking about what will be next on the nation's shopping lists. We're dedicated to helping our customers test and trial new innovations."
