Brush up on your air guitar as February is set to be a jam-packed month of rock ‘n’ roll music in Kent.

There are a number of concerts and shows taking place at the start of the month, from an ‘80s glam metal musical to some of the biggest names in modern music, so get ready to unleash your inner rockstar.

First up is the Rolling Stones Story, which will be at Maidstone’s Hazlitt Theatre on Friday, February 3. You can book tickets online here.

The show recreates the high-energy concerts of the legendary ‘60s band, with Paul Ashworth as flamboyant frontman Mick Jagger.

The band will produce an authentic live experience for fans of the Rolling Stones, performing the group’s biggest singles including Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Satisfaction, Brown Sugar, Start Me Up and more.

Another blast from the past is coming up this week as the Kast Off Kinks perform a string of nostalgic hits at The Forum in Tunbridge Wells on Saturday, February 4. You can book tickets online here.

The band consists of former members of The Kinks, including founding member and original drummer Mick Avory, keyboardist Mark Haley and bassist Mike Steed.

The trio will be joined by frontman Dave Clarke and, together, will be playing all of the best hits from the band’s back-catalogue such as You Really Got Me, Sunny Afternoon, Lola and many more.

Fast forwarding to the present day and one of the most exciting up-and-coming rock bands of the minute will be performing at Ramsgate Music Hall on Saturday, February 4.

Holding Absence have performed on stages at Download Festival and Reading and Leeds Festival and, armed with their latest album the Greatest Mistake of My Life, will now be playing to a sold-out crowd in Kent.

Also taking to the stage in February is Rock of Ages, which will be at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley from Tuesday, February 7 to Saturday, February 11. You can book tickets online here.

The jukebox musical, set in 1980s Los Angeles, follows the staff, performers and regulars of live music venue the Bourbon Room as they chase their dreams of being Hollywood stars.

The production, which is currently on its farewell tour, stars Coronation Street actor Kevin Kennedy and features huge hits from bands such as Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Journey, Joan Jett and Pat Benatar.

And, finally, one more gig that should be in your calendars to kick off February is Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls.

The punk folk musician and his live band will be at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone on Wednesday, February 8. You can book tickets online here.

Frank Turner is no stranger to the county, having recently performed at The Forum in Tunbridge Wells for the venue’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

He has nine studio albums under his belt, including No. 1 album FTHC, and has performed at prestigious venues such as the O2 Arena and Wembley Arena, as well as at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.
