Two food and drink festivals are set to showcase the best of Kent’s produce, from local ales to delicious dishes.

The Taste of Kent Food and Drink Festival is first up, inviting hungry visitors to the Gulbenkian Arts Centre in Canterbury on Thursday, June 15.

Visitors can sample products from more than 50 Taste of Kent Food and Drink finalists, from fine dining to street food.

Some of Kent’s top rated restaurants, such as The Sportsman in Whitstable, Boys Hall in Willesborough and Chef’s Table in West Malling, are up for awards.

In the casual dining category, visitors can find treats from The Pig at Bridge, near Canterbury, Papermakers Arms in Plaxtol and Marc-Pierre’s Kitchen in Ramsgate.

Street food stalls will also be available, serving up cuisines from Big Pan Foods in Dover, Funky Feast Food Bazaar in Maidstone and Pork & Co, which has sites in Whitstable, Folkestone and Margate.

For those who are more interested in supping a pint or two, the CAMRA Real Ale and Cider Festival will be at Tenterden station for two days, courtesy of the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

The beer and cider festival will give visitors a chance to try real ales and locally-produced ciders aboard diesel and steam trains.

The trains will depart on Saturday, June 17 throughout the day, but the action kicks off on Friday, June 16 at the station.

There will be a BBQ available on Friday evening and a wide range of drinks on offer.

The entertainment takes place on Saturday, with regular ale and cider trains running through the Wealden countryside and live music from Ska Sonic, Fit 2 Funk and more at the station.

Entry is included with a Kent and East Sussex Railway ticket, which cost £5 for adults and £3 for children. You can book online in advance here.
