Best-selling author and comedian Sara Pascoe is taking her new show, Success Story, on tour.

The show, which is all about the ways in which we define success, is coming to the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone and the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells this November.

“What I want to explore is how do we define success and when do we define it?” asks Sara. “Does it change with age? I’m 40 now and it’s a reflective time. Looking back on my life to when I was 14, I really wanted to be on television. That’s where I work now, but is it what I imagined it to be?”

While the show is full of questions and reflections, it still has Sara’s trademark comedy that has landed her presenting roles on the likes of Comedians Giving Lectures and the Great British Sewing Bee.

“When you’ve earned an audience from TV work, the idea that they might come to see you for the first time and leave disappointed really keeps you going,” says the mum-of-one. “You want an audience to be engaged in what you’re saying. When I watch comedy and want to text my dad about something that was said during a show, I know it was brilliant.”

The comedian has also presented TV shows, written two books and hosts her own podcast. Picture: Claire Haigh Photography

Despite being best known for her stage and TV performances, the comedian has also penned two books.

Her first book, Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body, was released in 2016 and her second book, Sex Power Money, was published in 2019.

Sex Power Money explores sexual relationships between men and women, and this theme is continued in Sara’s podcast of the same name.

Sara will be at Leas Cliff Hall on Saturday, 19 November and the Assembly Hall Theatre on Sunday, 20 November. Book tickets here.

You can also find a full list of tour dates on the Sara Pascoe website.
