How will you say it this Valentine's Day?
Give a Kentish gift and you'll be giving something back to the county as well as giving something special to loved ones. Here are a few ideas:
Kentish landmarks in candles
The Kentish Candle Co. has created a luxury Valentine’s Day gift box with other Kent producers - and all profits will go to NHS workers.
The firm which launched last year has made The Valentine’s Edition Gift Box, with profits going to the #LoveTheNHS campaign. Founder Donna Belgrave said: “This year people can’t visit the shops to buy special Valentine’s Day gifts, and local producers are suffering as a result. This gift box supports several local businesses as well as providing a complete, luxury Valentine’s Day gift.”
It contains a glass jar candle and a range of treats from local businesses, and comes with a gift bag and bespoke Valentine’s card, for £30. Order at kentishcandlecompany.com
A priceless print
Turner Contemporary in Margate may not be open at the moment, but you can still buy artwork, unusual gifts and unique prints from the online shop from artists including Tracey Emin.
You can order the work of local artists, as well as jewellery, accessories, books and homeware at turnercontemporary.org
Lavender for your wellbeing
Castle Farm at Shoreham is well known for its picturesque lavender fields in spring and summer, sells lavender sleep oils, pillow sprays, candles and bath and body products all-year round from its on-site shop alongside local food and drink produce - when the snow allows! You can currently shop online at castlefarmkent.co.uk
Gift vouchers
Four star Bridgewood Manor Hotel in Chatham has a range of Valentine’s Day gift vouchers for those looking forward to enjoying a treat once restrictions have eased. Gift packages for two start at £30 and go up to £225, and range from an afternoon tea or a spa day to an overnight spa package.
