Five sensational soloists have been announced for one of the biggest summer events in the county this year.
The Leeds Castle Concert, which has twice been postponed due to the pandemic, will see world class performers take to the stage at the castle near Maidstone after more than a year's wait.
The event, which had been due to be held last month, will now take place on Saturday, September 4 and feature the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra playing with a range of singers.
Tenor Alexander James Edward, who performed in 2014 and 2018, began his career as a member of the Young Artists’ Programme at the Royal Opera House while baritone Felix Kemp makes his debut appearance.
Felix said: “After the long and difficult year behind us, this will be a very special day for us all to enjoy together, with a smile and a glass of Champagne and the hope for better times ahead.”
Tim Howar, who appeared at the event in 2018 has one of the most versatile voices in the business, which has earned him the nick name Tim “the power” Howar, and has toured with Mike and the Mechanics.
Singer and actress Louise Dearman, who has played Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked in the West End, performed in 2018 and 2019.
New to the event is Emma Williams who made her West End debut as Truly Scrumptious in the original cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, winning the Arts Correspondents' Award for Best Newcomer.
She said: “I’m so excited to be re-visiting one of my favourite places, Leeds Castle, but this time as a performer instead of in the audience. The concert will surely be the musical event of the summer."
Picnic tickets cost £53 per person. There's a 10% discount when buying 10 or more.
The event is sponsored by leading local law firm Brachers for a fifth year. For tickets click here.
