This year's Castle Concerts kick off on Wednesday, July 15 and will see a variety of huge names perform in the grounds of Rochester Castle including Status Quo, Peter Andre and the Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

The four-day music spectacular, which is put on by Medway Council, will follow its long-standing tradition by ending with its ever-popular Castle Proms.

Tickets for the opening night which will see the return of headliners Status Quo have already sold out. The Quo are a firm favourite at the annual event, having sold out both their previous headline slots in 2010 and 2013.

Aussie singer Peter Andre who is widely-known for his hit Mysterious Girl is due to perform along with chart-topping UK boy band Blue, which includes Chatham's very own Lee Ryan. Both acts will be playing on Thursday, July 16 and will be joined by Jermain Jackman, winner of BBC’s The Voice 2014.

Friday, July 17 will see clocks turn back to the 1980s as Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan and Jay Aston formerly of Bucks Fizz take the stage before headliner, R&B star Billy Ocean. Hosting the party night will be BBC Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox who is a self-confessed 1980s music lover.

A truly grand finale will see classics played by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra such as ‘Rule Britannia’ and ‘Jerusalem’ with conductor, Michael Reed.

The whole event will come to an end with beautiful dancing water fountains and a stunning fireworks display.

There are still tickets left for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday concerts but they are selling out fast so make sure you do not miss out!
