A Kent influencer who says her mission is to help "Pimp your Prosecco" is to hold a virtual cocktail masterclass ahead of Valentine's Day.
Loved-up folk can tune in to an hour's interactive cocktail making with cocktail creator Tammy Jackson from Hildenborough, who has almost 40,000 followers on Instagram as ForCocktailSake.
The event, on Monday, February 8, will support the county charity Tree of Hope, which helps families fundraise for children’s operations, therapies and equipment that are unobtainable via the NHS.
Tammy started her own social media career and cocktail blog after ill health forced her to give up full-time work and most of her much-loved socialising back in 2013.
But after her husband built a bar in their living room, she was inspired.
She said: "My mission is to inspire you. Pimp your Prosecco. Try something smoky. Put aside the plastic straws. Spritz your gin and bitter up your bourbon. Make bringing the people you love spending time with special. And make something special for you. You (de)serve it!
"It may sound completely counterintuitive that I started a cocktail blog, during my healing journey. But I love the creativity, the teaching, the learning, the trying of new things."
It will be her second event with Tree of Hope, after she staged The Ultimate Pop Up, at Hush Heath Estate near Staplehurst, with seven top Kent chefs in 2019.
She said: "Knowing all too well what illness can do to a family, it takes many small miracles of support so that the children and their families have and continue to have, the wonderful Tree of Hope team to support them.
"Who wouldn’t want to be a part of raising awareness for that? During these times it’s even more vital than ever."
She added of the Valentine's event: "This time we are elevating drinks to celebrate all things love and raising funds to enable the charity to continue doing their incredible work."
Tree of Hope chief executive, Gill Gibb, said: "We are very grateful to Tammy for her support and really looking forward to the event.
"Come along, have some fun, create some delicious Valentine’s cocktails while also raising funds for the families we support."
During the one-hour session on Zoom, Tammy will show how to create a Hello Darling cocktail meant for two, in time for Valentine’s Day.
The class is from 7pm to 8pm. Tickets cost £10 per household and can be booked here.
