Kent residents can marvel at a second stunning light show this autumn.
Audio-visual company Luxmuralis will follow up their spectacular installation at Canterbury Cathedral with five nights at Rochester Cathedral.
The show, which comes to Medway annually, is named Science and will this year explore the contributions of science and human understanding of the physical world.
The experience will explore chemistry and biology as it interprets the scale of molecules, cells and DNA as well as exploring the history of the subject.
Visitors will be immersed in a walk through the historic building and will be able to view light and sound art installations digitally.
The company has previously produced Space Voyage in 2021 and Life in 2022 at the cathedral.
This year’s show will be at Rochester Cathedral from Tuesday, October 3 to Saturday, October 7. Tickets are available online here.
It follows on from Renaissance, a multi-sensory light installation by the same group which launches the Canterbury Festival on Tuesday, September 26.
The projections will highlight Canterbury Cathedral’s architecture and immerse visitors in paintings and artwork from the Renaissance period using moving light displays and original compositions.
Both installations have been created by sculptor Peter Walker, while the soundscapes come from composer David Harper.
Renaissance will be in Canterbury until Saturday, September 30. You can book a time slot here.
Tickets to both shows must be booked in advance.
Time slots have sold out in the past, so those who want to visit are advised to book early.
