Kids for a quid returns to Spa Valley Railway, Tunbridge Wells

Still counting the pennies after Christmas? If so, the Tunbridge Wells-based Spa Valley Railway has an offer you’ll enjoy this weekend - its Kids for a Quid sessions are back.

You can head out on a winter adventure with the family on Saturday, February 2 and Sunday, February 3, with kids travelling for just £1 on the Class 207 DEMU 1317, affectionately known as Thumper, because of the engine noise.

The engine has built-in heating so it will be nice and toasty on your journey through the countryside.

Trains will operate between Tunbridge Wells West and Groombridge Station, where you can hop off and explore the village or countryside.

With the promotion, a family of four can enjoy the steamy day out for £22.

Built in the 1960s, 1317 operated on the line and surrounding ones up to 1985.

Upcoming Kids for a Quid dates also include half term, from Saturday, February 16 to Sunday, February 24.
