Don’t get in a flap this weekend about what to do - English Heritage has two days devoted to exploring Falconry of the Medieval Kings.

Visitors can discover the art of training and hunting with birds at Dover Castle while learning more about the turbulent tales of the early medieval monarchs on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6.

Join the medieval falconers on the palace green to see a cast of hawks, owls and falcons in graceful flight as the falconers demonstrate the art of training, exercising and hunting with birds of the chase while revealing turbulent tales of the early medieval monarchs.

Property manager Becky Smith said: “We are incredibly pleased to see falconry return to Dover Castle, for the first weekend of September.

“There is nothing more majestic than seeing these awesome birds of prey against the imposing backdrop of the mighty Dover Castle. We hope visitors will feel transported in time as they enjoy displays of free-flying hawks, owls and falcons.”
