Foodies will have plenty to tempt their tastebuds at Broadstairs Food Festival’s spring fair this weekend.

The event takes place in Pierremont Park from Saturday, March 26 to Easter Monday from 10am to 5pm every day.

There will more than 50 food and drink producers offering the chance to buy everything from fresh and cured meats to cheese, chocolates, cakes, wines, ciders and burritos.

Organiser Jo Scott said: “We have a lot of the regular members coming back and some newbies as well.

“All in all we are going to have a fabulous time, the weather is going to be beautiful and we are really looking forward to it.”

Fair organisers have teamed up with Kentish producers, restaurants, bars and food retailers to offer the showcase of food, drink and hospitality from across Kent.

There will also be an Easter bonnet competition on Monday for the under-12s. Categories include Most Colourful, Most Floral and Most Outlandish. Entrants must be at the Chamber Office in Pierremont Hall at 2.45pm and judging takes place at 3pm.

There will also be a face painter and a free arts and crafts for children across all three days of the festival.

The town's second food festival of the year takes place from Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2. Money raised this weekend from stall fees covers about 60% of the cost of staging the two events. The remainder comes from sponsorship, the festival’s friends group and the three prize draws held across the event.
