The socially-distanced show will go on this Christmas, theatre managers have vowed.

The EM Forster Theatre in Tonbridge announced in September that Wicked Productions would be staging a specially adapted panto, Robin Hood and his Socially Distanced Merry Men this Christmas.

Robin Hood at the EM Forster Theatre will be socially distanced for the cast, crew and audience

And, despite lockdown restrictions, the show will still go on, with performances starting on Friday, December 18.

Tom Swift of Wicked Productions, which is also putting on the panto at the Woodville in Gravesend this year, and EM Forster Theatre manager Kat Portman, have created a video to explain how it will be possible and the safety measures which have brought in.

A theatre spokesman said: "Under the latest government guidance professional rehearsals can continue so the cast of our panto are busy creating a fun-filled festive show.

"We hope that we can come out of lockdown and launch into performances from December 18, giving families some much needed laugh out loud panto fun to enjoy over Christmas and New Year."

"While this year's panto may be socially distanced, it is still an unmissable, family festive show packed full of all the slapstick, crazy jokes, and lashings of traditional panto magic that audiences have come to love and expect from Wicked Productions here in Tonbridge."

Tickets for the show, which will run until Sunday, January 8, are available at emftheatre.com

Other specially adapted pantos this year include Rapunzel at the Woodville, Nurse Nellie Saves Panto at the Marlowe in Canterbury, and Jack and the Beanstalk at the Stag, Sevenoaks.
