Sequins, glam and a sweet transvestite give a performance I guarantee you'll never forget - the Rocky Horror Show is back better than ever.

The Orchard Theatre in Dartford reopened with a bang, with the cult classic this week, for the first time since closing due to the pandemic in March last year.

As someone who had never seen the film nor play I truly had no idea what to expect.

But after seeing the queues of fans outside the theatre dressed in stilettos, fishnets and corsets I knew I was in for a wild ride.

After taking our seats I could already see the hardcore fans buzzing with anticipation for the classic to start, I had high expectations.

As the curtain rose and the music began I already knew it was going to be visually brilliant.

The lighting was beautiful and the costumes, while little of them, were just fabulous.

Haley Flaherty plays the role of Janet and her angelic voice floated across the audience despite her not-so-innocent actions.

The supporting characters of Riff Raff, Columbia and Magenta also had incredible voices that had so much character behind them, you truly couldn't fault their singing, it was like listening to a studio recording.

Strictly winner Ore Oduba played Brad Majors, and his dance training had definitely paid off. His acting, singing and dancing were top notch and I can definitely see him staying in theatre for the foreseeable future.

The real steal of the show though was the one and only Frank-N-Furter!

Played by Stephen Webb, his stage presence was one to admire; he was brilliant and the character was so much fun.

With cheeky jokes and innuendos bouncing from the audience and narrator, the show was a great laugh with spectacular songs and dances.

Of course it's no surprise the whole audience were up on their feet dancing with the performers to the Time Warp.

The Rocky Horror Show was such amazing fun and I haven't seen that much audience participation since panto.

I felt it was a performance for an older audience but a great laugh and night out none the less!

The show runs until Friday, September 3, when it will be followed by shows including Grease the musical from Monday, September 13.
