Festival organisers have announced that the Belfast legend, Van Morrison, is set to top the bill next summer.
'Van the Man', who is best known for his hit Brown Eyed Girl, is the biggest name yet to be announced for the line-up of the Americana and country music event, the Black Deer Festival.
The singer will play on the final day of the festival, which runs from Friday, June 18 to Sunday, June 21, 2021, at Eridge Park near Tunbridge Wells.
The veteran performer is actively performing and recording, with his latest release last week, with Eric Clapton - Stand and Deliver - raising funds for UK musicians who have been left struggling due to the latest government restrictions.
He last performed in the county at the Hop Farm Festival back in 2010, and previously at Rochester Castle in 2006.
The festival, which was forced to postpone this year has already announced acts including Wilco, The Waterboys and Saving Grace FT Robert Plant, while also joining the bill will be pioneering country troubadour Charley Crockett, The War and Treaty and Arkansas’ Dylan Earl.
Alongside the music, the event also embraces the lifestyle and food of Americana and country music, with cooking masterclasses and food served up by the likes of Caravan’s group executive chef Matt Burgess, former River Cottage chef Tim Maddams and Weber BBQ’s head grill masters Dan Cooper and Gyles Foster.
The event , which will be staged for the third time, has also announced Thursday opening for ticketholders from 4pm, with children going free and 1,500 NHS and key workers going free.
