A star of the hit musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie is to join the cast of one of Kent's pantos this Christmas.
Melissa Jacques, who plays Jamie's mum in the West End show, will join Ru Paul's Drag Race's Vinegar Strokes, in the cast of this year’s Sevenoaks panto.
Playing the Pirate Queen in the show at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks will be the first time in 15 years Melissa has been in panto.
She returns to the Christmas tradition after a long stint in the West End, having performed as Donna in Mamma Mia; Madam Morrible in Wicked and Trish in Kinky Boots, before playing Margaret New in Everybody's Talking About Jamie for two years.
It will also see her reunited with fellow Everybody’s Talking About Jamie cast member Vinegar Strokes, who starred in the musical prior to appearing in Season One of Ru Paul's Drag Race UK.
Joining them on stage for The Pirates of Treasure Island will be Ellie Mills and Arthur Janes, both third year students at Bird College, in their first professional roles, playing Jemima Hawkins and Captain Smollett; Silly Billy (played by Ant Payne), and Stag producer and panto dame Jamie Alexander Wilson, with Rik Jones as Long John Silver.
The professional ensemble will feature Daisy Dean, George Deller, Harry Dutton, Anja Gibbs Bell, John Heaney, Abbie McCorkell, Patrick Rosinha, and Natalie Webb.
There will also be a live band for the show, which runs at the Stag Theatre Sevenoaks, from Friday, December 10 to Sunday, January 2. To book tickets click here.
