Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson is to perform his band's classic album Pet Sounds in full at Together the People festival in Brighton.

It is the second time the festival has been held in the city's picturesque Preston Park and takes place on September 3 and 4.

It is one of the closest major festivals to Kent, with the site within walking distance of Brighton train station.

Wilson headlines the Saturday night - his only UK festival appearance - with Suede performing on the Sunday.

Other acts on the bill across the two days include Nathaniel Rateliff, The Horrors, former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, Turin Brakes and Natty.

Peter Hook, who played bass for Joy Division and on most of New Order's biggest hits, will also be appearing with his band The Light.

Together the People is also one of the UK's most family-friendly festivals, with loads of performances for children including Aliens Love Underpants and Lazytown.

Day or weekend tickets are available here.

This is a non-camping festival but there are lots of accommodation options in Brighton, and even more things to do while you are there. You can read a guide to the resort - and its new attraction the i360 - on our sister website My Kent Family.
