Get ready for skirmishes, drills and blasts as an explosive event is set to return next month.
The annual Napoleonic Re-eactment Weekend at Hole Park Gardens in Rolvenden brings to life one of the most colourful periods of history, recreating the lives of soldiers - some on horseback - during the Napoleonic wars.
The event, which is planned to go ahead on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, and is all staged outdoors, is put on by the Napoleonic Association of Great Britain and features exciting battle re-enactments with cannon fire and the chance to meet some of the actors in the living history encampments.
You could even be able to catch a glimpse of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte,in the guise of look-alike John Horwood, who will be there on both days to lead skirmishes and re-enact scenes.
There will also be thrilling demonstrations of cavalry arms skills, drills, artillery displays, parades and skirmishes, as well as some regency ladies, bringing a touch of Jane Eyre to Hole Park.
Visitors can also book one of two daily tours to see behind the scenes, including preparing canons for fire and a tour of both the French and English encampments.
Admission includes entry into the gardens, which are open from 10am to 6pm.
The Coach House Tea Room will also be open.
