Put on your jazz shoes and hide your liquor as Chicago comes to the Orchard Theatre.
The sultry musical spectacular is coming to razzle-dazzle Dartford audiences from Tuesday, April 19.
Starring the Three Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson as Mama Morton and classical tenor Russell Watson as Billy Flynn, this production is pulling out all the stops to bring the prohibition era story to the stage.
This latest reinvention of the Olivier Award-winning show also stars Coronation Street favourite Faye Brookes, who recently reached the final of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, as fame-hungry Roxie Hart.
Set in the 1920s, Chicago follows nightclub dancer and housewife Roxie who, after pulling the trigger on her on-the-side lover, finds herself in jail. Desperate to avoid life behind bars, she works with slippery lawyer Billy Flynn to get the public, her husband and her cellmate, Velma Kelly, on her side.
Since opening in New York in 1996, the show has become the longest-running American musical in Broadway and West End history.
Chicago was also turned into an Academy Award-winning film in 2002, starring Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere.
With a sassy score, including Razzle Dazzle, Cell Block Tango and All That Jazz, and show-stopping choreography based on the original ideas of the legendary Bob Fosse, this show is certainly one for the ages.
Chicago is at the Orchard Theatre from Tuesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 23. Book online here or call 03433 100 033.
